OMDURMAN, Sudan, May 26, 2025 (Xinhua) -- Residents of Khartoum State are enduring extreme heat and a deepening water crisis.
Temperatures have soared to 45 degrees Celsius in recent days, the Sudan Meteorological Authority reported, as a heatwave grips the region.
The soaring temperatures have compounded existing hardships, with residents facing prolonged power outages and a worsening shortage of drinking water. Authorities say the disruptions are linked to recent drone attacks on power infrastructure during the ongoing armed conflict.
